Aggrow
Before reading any further, make sure you don’t have any work you need done, today. There’s a reason I’m posting this on a weekend…
The Grow Games.
… are a wonderful series of games. Basically, each one has a particular scenario where you start off with an “empty” board and several elements. By clicking on an element’s panel, you add it to the board. They interact with each other by upgrading (or not) and your goal is to maximise all the elements’ levels.
You have to see it for yourself. The first one is as good a place as any to start.
Once you get it, move on to the second, Grow RPG, which is probably my favourite (possibly because it feels less abstract than the rest).
The third one, Grow Cube, has 10 different elements to choose from, so you can see how you might be playing for a while…
The greatest thing about the Grow games is that they capture the very essence of “play”. While there is a specific goal, it rarely feels like trying to solve a puzzle. Rather, it’s about the journey and about discovery. Every click opens up a new series of choices, and watching the beautiful animations of the elements interacting is just pure, clean fun.
Grow Tower is the latest one, and I’m going to play it, now. But if you’re done and you still haven’t had enough, there are four different miniGrows as well as an early version that I’m including for completeness’ sake.
EDIT: Just finished Grow Tower. It’s very-very cute. Made me feel like a weird sort of steampunk-alchemist.
EDIT2: The title was bothering me. So I changed it.

Aww they’re so cute. At first I thought ‘what a waste of time’ and then I did just that.
Exactly!
